Apropos of their first luncheon in Boca, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society honored Lisa and Michael Kaufman. The retail mogul told the construction mogul she had MS when they met, Michael told 860 supporters. “I may have MS, but I will never let MS have me,” she told him.
A video of Lisa’s active lifestyle got a standing O from the sold-out crowd. “All of us are fighting for the same cause,” she said. “The kids have to know when you get down, you have to get back up again.” The couple has six kids between them. And Lisa confided they were celebrating Mike’s birthday that night.
This was mostly a Broward crowd. But among locals there to support the Boca couple was Florida Atlantic University.
Mike founded and is CEO of Kaufman Lynn Construction. Lisa founded the national group of 55 Scout & Molly’s Boutiques and recently opened one in Boca. Her pop-up shop was among three rooms of silent auction items at Boca West Country Club Friday.
Neiman Marcus also had clothes, jewelry, and makeup there. Their stunning spring fashion show followed the award presentation and a medical update.
