A different kind of delivery from Morton’s The Steakhouse

Morton’s The Steakhouse in the Boca Center just started a new steak and seafood concept via delivery. But don’t call the restaurant.

The service, called Landry’s Kitchen, is offering patrons the same steak  and seafood as their restaurants source nationally. Diners can order online at Prices and the five packages are on the web site.

“The difference is, this is raw product, it has to be cooked. Seafood is particularly intimidating to cook. We want to make it easier for people,” said Kathy Ruiz, Landry’s senior vice president for culinary. “A lot more people are staying home and want good food.”

The food can be over-nighted or by two-day delivery. Purchases are individually wrapped or packaged and packed in an insulated cooler with dry ice to maintain optimum temperatures while the delivery is en route, according to the company.

Certified Angus Beef offerings include: New York strip, top sirloin, ribeye, Porterhouse, T-bone and cowboy cut Steaks. Seafood includes Caribbean red snapper, Chilean seabass, jumbo Australian lobster tails, New Zealand king salmon, and yellowfin Saku sashimi-grade tuna.

“We chose the items we felt sell best in our restaurants,” Ruiz said. The web site also offers recipes and how-tos. “We’re using different chefs across the country to do the videos. It’s interesting for people to see the different kinds of foods and styles,” she said. “We’re probably going to change things seasonally and do more videos and recipes, so stay tuned.”
