Look for artists’ tents in and around Sanborn Square in downtown Boca this weekend. The 11th annual Hotworks.org presents Boca Raton Fine Art Show is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 26 and 27. “This is our largest show so far, with 160 juried artists,” said Patty Narozny, executive director. “The jurying is based on originality, technique, execution and booth appearance.
“The public will be able to meet the artists,” she added. “The artists are from the U.S., Canada and Europe. Fifty-five percent of the artists are new to the show.”
Works on display and for sale include glass, painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, wood, fiber, mixed media and clay. “There’s something for everyone in all price ranges.” Narozny said. “There are a lot of artists with collectors’ items, but it’s important to us to have something for everyone from $20 or less.”
Art lovers can see the works of 50 students this year. The tent labeled Budding Artists will exhibit art by students from grades 6 to 12 or ages 9 to 19. Budding Artists awards are presented at 3 p.m. Sunday. Saturday at 3 p.m. are awards for the professional artists held on the Sanborn stage. “Mark Forman is the artist judge. We walk around the show and if any of the public want to join us, it’s a great experience,” Narozny said.
