Boca’s biggest wine and food festival is moving under one roof this year. And an informal beach bash is added to the lineup. The Grand Tasting for Boca Bacchanal is in the Great Hall at the Boca Raton Resort & Club 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday April 6.
The Resort is at 501 E. Camino Real, east of Federal Highway. For people used to Mizner Amphitheater as the tasting venue, tickets will still be accessible.
“We’ll sell them at the gate that night, but it’s easier to buy them online. You’ll be automatically registered for the event and auction,” said Mary Csar, executive director, Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum. The three-day event is their biggest fundraiser.
Twenty to 25 restaurants are expected with 130 wines from 35 to 40 wineries. The Excell Bar will include spirits and Taittinger champagne will be poured at the Saks Fifth Avenue lounge.
“We’ll have a New York City vibe in the large room, and a wine country vibe in the smaller room,” Csar said. Low- and high-top seating is planned.
Tickets are $125. Parking is $10, Csar noted. “We encourage people to use Uber or take a taxi, just for safety.” The move to the Resort creates a more upscale atmosphere, Csar said. Suggested dress is resort-style cocktail.
This is the first year for Bubbles and Burgers 6 to 9 p.m. at the Boca Beach Club, 900 S. Ocean Blvd.Guests can taste an array of specialty burgers and sparkling wines. Tickets are $75 in advance. Parking is complimentary.
“We’re trying to attract younger people and it’s a chance to do something at the beach,” Csar said, but no beach attire.
Other Bacchanal events include dinners by chefs at private homes and are sold out.
