25 Bashes To Kick Off Boca Chamber Annual Festival Days

August means it must be Boca Chamber Festival Days annual month of fundraisers for local charities.

The festival kicks off at 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Addison. Watch eight teen finalists compete to sing the National Anthem at this year’s Boca Raton Bowl college football game in December. The $35 admission at https://www.spiritofgivingnetwork.com goes to the Spirit of Giving’s Back to School Bash for 4,000 at-risk kids.

Some events have become classics. Boca’s Got Talent moves to the Hyatt Place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 13. The $25 admission at http://faulkcenterforcounseling.org/news-at-faulk-center/ goes to the Faulk Center for Counseling with low-cost therapy and support groups.

“Another classic is the Battle of Bartenders and I’m in it,” said Chamber CEO and president Troy McClellan. It’s $25 in advance, $30 at the door from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Marriott Boca Raton. “Tips” go to Best Foot Forward Foundation that helps foster kids further their education at https://bestfoot.org/

Margarita Monday is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Rocco’s Tacos in the Shops at Boca Center. The $25 in advance or $30 at the door benefit KidSafe, to prevent bullying and Internet dangers, at http://kidsafefoundation.org/

The Lip Sync contest from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at Blue Martini supports Nat King Cole Generation Hope. The late singer’s twin daughters run the foundation to keep music alive for at-risk kids. Tickets at http://natkingcolegenhope.org/product/lip-sync-battle-boca-raton/

“There are a couple new ones I’m excited about,” McLellan said. “Throwback Thursday at the Tilted Kilt benefits Trustbridge [the nonprofit for hospice and home health care.]”

Wine & All That Jazz is chamber’s annual wine, libation, and food-tasting at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. “There are unbelievable food and entertainment,” he said. “We absolutely want people to buy tickets in advance,” he said.

“There are two bands and a big dance floor. This is THE event for the summer in Boca Raton,” McLellan said.
