At least 900 foodies piled into Saturday’s Grand Tasting at the Boca Raton Resort & Club with snazzy New York scenery.
That capped Boca Bacchanal’s 17th annual weekend of food and wine events and visiting chefs. “I’ll come back if I’m invited,” said Charleston chef Russ Moore. He cooked at one of five vintner dinners.
Three events sold out, co-chair and Saks Fifth Avenue veep Heather Shaw said at the VIP. Saks’ pop-up shop for fashionistas included a Taittinger champagne pour.
Guests picked up a wine glass to browse two ballrooms filled with wine vendors and food bites to sample. A Porsche and Rolls Royce SUV were among Excell Auto Group’s cars on display. It was that kind of party.
Kimberlie, a $8.5 million super yacht on sale, was tour-able at the VIP dockside cocktail hour at the Resort. What a way to start the evening.
Owner Kimberlie Glaser said fashion giant Michael Kors and other celebs have been on board. The breathtaking yacht is a floating mansion with six staterooms and two Wave runners strapped to the aft deck. “Toys” often come with these beauties, said Shannon McCoy, who handles sales and charters for Worth Avenue Yachts.
The Bacchanal is the Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum major fundraiser. Exec director Mary Csar said 2019 has been a great year for them so far. They’re planning to renovate Town Hall, their headquarters and official Boca welcome center. A video showing plans for new displays were on view near the check-in with major donor Bobby Campbell.
The society runs regular tours of the Resort, an Addison Mizner edifice. Click here for signups. Their next Town Talk is 1 p.m. Saturday April 13 on The Highwaymen, 25 celebrated African-American artists. Tickets are $10 and RSVPs recommended.
