Boca’s equity theater reopens with musicals, shows, concerts

“Mamma Mia!” “Nunsense.” “A Chorus Line.” The Wick is reopening with three Broadway musicals, concerts and show.  The “grand reopening” will be the first time back in the actual theater, socially distanced with 200 seats instead of the usual 354, said managing executive producer Marilynn Wick.

“A Tribute to John Denver” will be Nov. 6 and 7, with or without dinner from the theater’s Tavern on the Wick. “The one-hour show is without intermission,” with dinner patrons returning to the lobby for dessert, Wick said.

The regular season restart begins with “Mamma Mia!” Jan. 7 through Feb. 14. A touring production of “A Chorus Line” returns March 4 through April 4. Cindy Williams of “Laverne and Shirley” sitcom fame, will star in “Nunsense.” That run is April 15 to May 9.

A Supper Club with dinner and entertainers in the lobby will continue through the year, Wick said. Lobby shows with dinner at 6 p.m. Oct. 16, 17, Oct. 23 and 24 are “Broadway meets Motown.” “A Spell on Broadway” is Halloween weekend Oct. 28 to 31 with songs from movies and Broadways show from “Sweeney Todd” to “Young Frankenstein.”

In between are shows including a concert and holiday and New Year’s productions from now through Jan. 1. Among them are “A Blast from the Past,” Nov. 20 and 21. “The Holiday Shuffle,” with holiday music and costuming, a precision tap dance show, is Dec. 18, 19 and 20. “Shake Baby Shake” with Lance Lipinsky is at 5 and 8 p.m. Dec. 31 and a “Hangover Party” at 3 p.m. Jan. 1.

“We’re allowed to open the theater and the front of the house will be socially distanced and it’s very safe,” Wick said. “We’ve implemented every rule of the CDC.”

The Wick is at 7901 N. Federal Highway. For tickets go to or call 561-995-2333.
