Boca’s really got talent in Future Stars

Thousands of cheering parents and supporters filled Mizner Park Amphitheater for the 16th annual Future Stars Performing Arts Competition.

Singers and dancers vied for prizes before judges Sunday night at The Rotary Club of Boca Raton’s show for middle and high school performers.

Middle school vocals: Sarah Lash, first place; Victoria Johnson, second place; Jasmine Iacullo, third place

High school vocals: Juliet Perel, first place; Cassie Ortiz, second place; Catherine Boynton, third place

Middle school dance:  Natalia Moody, first place; Dylan Haligman, second place; Riley Walsh, third place

High school dance: Tatiana Nuzez, first place; Meesha Cooper, second place;  Jillian Carpenter, third place

Group dance: Lents Dance Company, first place; Pine Crest School Mother Earth, second place; Pine Crest Precision, third place

Director’s choice: Nicholas LaMaina, dancer

Boca’s own Mason Pace Band and dancers from Florida Atlantic entertained.

This is an all-volunteer Rotary event. Neil Saffer, incoming club president Vanessa Havener and David Dweck co-emceeded. Bill Riddick, Julie Vianale and Bob Buruchian co-chaired.

City councilwoman Andrea O’Rourke was back stage and helped Saffer hand out prizes. Vocalist Kendra Erika, a former Future Stars winner, was among the judges. Paradise Bank was the title sponsor.
