Two complete closures could affect Boca drivers starting Monday.
Camino Real just east of Military Trail will be completely closed overnight on Monday, April 29.
On Florida’s Turnpike, three overnight closures are set at Sunrise Boulevard starting Monday. And there’s a new traffic pattern starting Sunday morning at exit 17 to MDX SR 874/Don Shula Expressway.
Bridge construction on Camino at I-95 overhead will cause the total shutdown from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday.
Drivers are expected to detour via Military Trail north to Palmetto Park Road and back to Camino Real on Southwest 12thAvenue to avoid the shutdown.
For Florida’s Turnpike drivers headed south, a full overnight closure is planned at Sunrise Boulevard. Both travel lanes will be closed 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday April 29, 30 and May 1.
Both north and southbound traffic will be detoured off the Sunrise exit to U.S. 441/State Road 7 to Commercial Boulevard to resume turnpike travel.
The turnpike closures will allow FDOT crews to work on bridge construction, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The new traffic pattern on the turnpike at exit 17 affects northbound travel. Traffic will stay on the right three travel lanes to continue north.
Overhead signs and portable message board will reflect the new traffic pattern.
The Camino Real closures are due to bridge work that’s part of the I-95 project from south of Southwest 10th Street to south of Glades Road.
That construction will convert the existing HOV lanes to toll roads. General-use lanes will remain the same. Work on the $102 million project is expected to wrap up by next spring, 2020.
