Western-style gaming tables will be an added attraction to Tri-County Animal Rescue’s upcoming Doggie & Kittie Ball. A Casino Saloon theme will change it up for the 17thannual fundraiser. The event is April 14 at Boca West Country Club, board and event chair Sharon DiPietro announced.
Tickets are $325 or $350 with butler service tableside. Call 516-482-8110, ext. 3.
The usual cocktail hour will be replaced by live music, a dance floor, and gaming starting at 6 p.m., DiPietro said. “Dealers and tables open at 6 p.m. in the living room only, so those who want to gamble can do that.
“The dining room opens for dinner, and the grand finale is room after room of decadent desserts and the gaming tables,” she added.
After dinner, tables reopen and guests can play poker, Texas hold ‘em, blackjack, roulette or slot machines. A chip cage will dispense an extra chip for every $1 chip, she said.
The dress code is denim and rhinestone cowboy and cowgirl style. Firefighters will walk the red carpet with rescue dogs and cats.
The no-kill shelter is raising $10 million to add a 64,000-square-foot buildout in phases. That will help staff accommodate more rescues, rehabs, and adoptees on their campus at 21287 Boca Rio Road.
“This is our main event,” DiPietro said about the gala. “It provides for operational and emergency medical funds. “We’re finishing our first phase and will be rolling into phase II of our capital campaign for naming rights,” she added.
