Barry Gibb entertained to a sold-out crowd at Chris Evert’s gala in the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
Fellow tennis greats came in to play, including Martina Navratilova, Patrick McEnroe, Luke Jensen, Rennae Stubbs, Vince Spadea and Jesse Levine.
The 30th Annual Chris Evert Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic presented by Chase Private Client raised another $800,000 for Evert’s ongoing campaign against drug abuse and child neglect.
The weekend’s events included a pro-am and gala at the Resort and two days of tennis at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.
Celebrities taking part included Carson Kressley, Jon Lovitz, Seal, Gavin Rossdale, Kevin McKidd, Scott Foley, Tate Donovan, Shawn Hatosy, Helio Castroneves and David Cook.
Tanya Thicke presented the Alan Thicke Scholarship, on behalf of her late husband, to Dana Tiek-Sosa. Jaquira Church became the 43 rd young woman to be awarded the Vitas Gerulaitis Memorial Scholarship.
Evert’s events have raised $26 million since 1995, according to The Chris Evert Charities. Proceeds go to programs funded through the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and the Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County. The scholarship program honors the late Gerulaitis, a friend of Evert’s who was ranked in the ATP Top 10 for seven straight years.
