With the canceled Midtown project behind them, a major Boca developer is moving on.
The city’s Planning & Zoning Board will consider a site plan for Restaurant Row. That’s Crocker Partner’s planned construction of a four restaurant complex at 5355 Town Center Road.
The builder of Mizner Park and the Shops at Boca Center, Crocker has also taken on a major project. The firm has plans to completely revive the former IBM complex.
“That will help us regain our lead,” managing partner Angelo Bianco said to Boca Chamber’s Pulse for young professionals.
“Some sites in Boca Raton Innovation campus will be open to the public, not just tenants,” Bianco said.
Public plans include reviving the lake in the center as an outdoor event space for food trucks and music. The courtyard will be landscaped.
Crocker wants to out-Google, Google and Apple for workplace amenities. A rendering of the 13 miles of hallways includes spaces for collaboration, labs, a conference center and fitness area. There’s a coffee shop at each end, one named for the buildings’ famed architect Marcel Breuer.
The changed are expected to be made by the end of next year. But the center has already hosted local nonprofits’ events this year. Boca Chamber held its Battle of the Bands there. The Boca Raton Bowl used a space for its National Anthem competition.
