Fun and games at Resort Tuesday to boost dance off and rock band competes

Get your game on Tuesday to support two of Boca’s most entertaining fundraisers Sept. 20 and 28.

You can showcase your skills in golf, darts, bocce and ping pong at The Ultimate Backyard Battle. The friendly competition with cash prizes is 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Entry fees for a two-person team or individuals are $1,000 or $500, respectively. Winning prizes are $2,000 first place; $1,500 second place; $1,000 third place.

The event will include food, beverages, and live music. Raffles and a live auction include restaurant gift certificates, use of a private jet, golf foursomes and other prizes.

Proceeds will go to the Battle of the Bands to benefit Boca Chamber’s Golden Bell Education Foundation. And Boca’s Ballroom Battle, George Snow Scholarship Fund’s major fundraiser.

Tuesday’s co-host John C. Tolbert, Resort president and managing director, will be on guitar in Rock Lobster. That’s one of five bands vying in the chamber competition 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at Boca Raton Innovation Campus. Tickets $40  http://www.goldenbellbattleofthebands.com/tickets.html
