Boca has its own version of “America’s Got Talent” for middle and high school performers. The 16th annual “Future Stars” performing arts competition is April 7 in Mizner Park Amphitheater.
If you know a talented singer or dancer, Jan. 30 is the deadline to apply for the Feb. 10 audition.
Last year, 80 acts auditioned and 29 acts including dance groups were chosen for the show, said Julie Vianale, who runs the show for the Rotary Club of Boca Raton. Audition judges are club members and a few professionals.
The city is a partner. And this year for the first time, auditions will be held in the University Theatre at Florida Atlantic University.
Another first is that applications can be submitted remotely with no conditions or limitations, Vianale said. “Live auditions are always better,” she added.
