Disclosure. This reporter belonged to a Girl Scout Troop back in Philly. So having local scouts sell cookies at Duffy’s Sports Grill locations Friday night is a win-win.
Duffy’s partners with the Girl Scouts for a Give a Box, Get a Box campaign, Cookies for the Military. This is how it works.
When the guests buy a box for the military, they in turn receive a free box of cookies.
Girl Scouts will be stationed outside each of Duffy’s 23 locations between 5 and 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7. That includes both Boca Raton restaurants on St. Andrews Boulevard and in Mission Bay Plaza on State Road 7.
This year the goal is to sell 3,600 boxes.
Duffy’s started to participate in 2013. This is their eighth year and so far 22,048 boxes have been donated to the military.
Geri Emmett is behind this effort as chairwoman of Duffy’s Foundation. Emmett launched the charity in honor of her late husband Paul Emmett, founder of the Duffy’s Sports Grill chain.
