Grand opening Saturday for GL Home’s new Lotus in Boca

Whether you’re buying or looking, GL Homes new 805-home Lotus resort community opens on Saturday.  The public can walk through seven model homes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 12.

Pent-up demand for new construction has a lot of selection drawing scheduled for buyers.  “We encourage you to arrive at 8 a.m. and participate in the lottery at 9 a.m.,” said GL Homes’ COO Marcie DePlaza.

“The phones have been ringing off the hook, so we’re speaking with young families and empty nesters,” DePlaza said. “We’re offering one- and two-story homes. Not every empty nester wants an age-restricted community.”  If they do, there’s GL Homes’ latest 55-plus Valencia Bay in Boynton Beach, she added.

Lotus is a gated community on Lyons Road in Boca between Clint Moore Road and Atlantic Avenue.  Homes range from $589,900 for 1,666 square feet to $959,900 for 5,160 square feet.

What’s new in Lotus is a modern vibe for the entrance, homes, and clubhouse.  “We have been shifting in the market toward contemporary architecture. So, it’s a little bit different. Cleaner lines and a different feel than Berkeley and Valencia Bay,” DePlaza said.

A central recreation area will have a 19,000-square-foot clubhouse. Outdoors will be pickleball and tennis courts, a yoga lawn,  two pools, a wet play area and playground, cabanas, basketball court, and a poolside café and bar. “Every home site will accommodate a pool,” DePlaza added.

GL is prepared for both buyers and lookers.

“Customers come in who want to see pretty models on a Saturday afternoon, and decide they want to buy a new home,” sh added. “So, we’re prepared for a big opening. There will be food and the public will want to see this new architecture.”
