Boca Helping Hands’ 12th annual Bowling for Bread & Food Drive raised $12,000. Money raised will be divided among 14 non-profits serving at-risk children.
Strikes@Boca’s 64 lanes were filled with 200 children from local non-profits. As well as 125 adults that participated in the Bowling for Bread Bowling Tournament.
The first-place winner was Team Dr. [Andrew] Adelson DDS with Brad Waldbauer the highest scorer. Rotary Club of Boca Raton came in second and Solid Rock Christian Church was third.
Harriet Rubin, aka Florabelle’s Clowns on Call, were out in full force to entertain 400 children.
“Anything that helps the kids touches the heart,” said Greg Hazle, Helping Hands’ executive director.
The Lee Pearlson Steinberg Foundation sponsored the event and presented an $8,500 check for the 10th year.
Food was donated by Miller’s Ale House, Rocco’s Tacos, Tomasso’s Pizza, and Lucille’s Bad to the Bone BBQ.

- Florence Fuller Child Development Centers,
- Jim & Jan Moran Boys & Girls Club
- Place of Hope
- Salvation Army
- SOS Children’s Village
- Unicorn Children’s Foundation
- Youth Activities Center
- Peter Blum Family YMCA of Boca Raton.
