Hundreds of gift shoppers came out for Boca Chamber’s 38th annual Holiday Auction.
Chamber staff wore red and green antlers to help get bidders in the mood. Local restaurants provided eats and a deejay kept the music going from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Gift buying by bidding is Chamber pre-holiday ritual here. And more than 150 auction items were displayed on tables in the busy Marriott Boca Raton ballroom.
Another 20 went up for bid in a live auction, said Chamber president/CEO Troy McLellan. Among them were stays at the Boca Raton Resort & Club or Bluegreen Resort Villas, golf at Woodfield or Boca West, Porsche sunglasses and Panthers tickets.
Former chamber chair Cheryl Budd was on her way in to shop. “They have great things,” she said.
“I bid on $2,500 worth for our ADT holiday party,” said the company’s corporate affairs director Bob Tucker.
