Joshua Davidow was just named the new principal at Addison Mizner Elementary School in Boca.
Davidow was the principal at Waters Edge Elementary School in West Boca. He took over the job in August 2016. His replacement has not yet been named, the district said.
The school board approved his new appointment last Wednesday, according to board member Frank Barbieri Jr. He called Davidow “an excellent principal with all the attributes and talents necessary to lead AM as it transitions from a K-5 to a K-8.”
The school will be rebuilt on the same site over the next several years, he added. It will include kindergarten through eighth-grade.
A former administrator and an assistant principal at Boca Raton Middle School, Davidow has already moved to Addison Mizner.
The school district asked for public input after Addison Mizner’s principal Kelly Burke changed jobs. Burke became principal of Olympic Heights High School in Boca in September.
Addison Mizner PTA president Mike Maynes said parents had “significant input” on the selection process.
“Parents posted positive feedback regarding his stellar reputation at Water’s Edge Elementary,” Maynes said. “We are looking forward to a terrific and productive relationship.
