Heads up Boca drivers. Two complete closures are set starting overnight Sunday Jan. 26 for ongoing work on I-95.
And Florida’s Turnpike wants delinquent and overdrawn SunPass and Toll-by-Plate drivers to bring their accounts up to date.
Northbound Hillsboro Boulevard lanes at I-95 will be closed to traffic 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday. FDOT cited a traffic shift and new roadway construction. Drivers will be detoured to Military Trail and north to Palmetto Park Road.
Camino Real at I-95 just east of Military Trail and the train tracks will undergo full overnight closures for bridge construction. That’s scheduled for 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Sunday Jan. 26 through Thursday Jan. 29. Traffic will be detoured onto Military Trail, north to Palmetto Park Road and back to Camino via Southwest 12th Avenue.
Both road projects are part of work on I-95 to convert existing HOV lanes to two tolled express lanes in each direction. General use lanes will stay the same, FDOT said.
On the Turnpike, drivers who are delinquent or overdrawn are asked to settle their accounts. Florida Turnpike Enterprise will send the accounts to a collection agency in early 2020, FTE said. Until then, customers can switch the toll-by-plate balance to a new SunPass for a reduced rate.
