A stretch of sidewalk on the south side of Palmetto Park Road will close Tuesday morning March 12 through March 29. The sidewalk will undergo a complete closure from Southwest 12th Avenue to Military Trail.
The walkway will be completely reconstructed. The 6.279-mile project includes widening the existing path for shared use.
New curb ramps will be installed to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. The work is being done to improve pedestrian and bicyclist access to mass transit along Palmetto Park Road.
The $4 million project also includes minor roadway resurfacing on several side streets. The westbound turn lane at the Cardinal Avenue/9th Street access to the Boca Raton Museum of Art School is being widened.
The project began April 20, 2018, in Boca Raton and is expected to be done this spring. The work is from State Road 7/U.S. 441 in west Boca to Northwest 12th Avenue in the city. Both sides of the roadway are impacted from Northwest 12th Avenue to Northwest 2nd Avenue.
