Prezzo Officially Opens this Thursday

Restauranteurs Burt Rapoport and Dennis Max have rebirthed their Italian concept from the 90s and it is finally here, opening this Thursday, December 28th. Prezzo is serving up an expansive Italian menu crafted by James Beard award-winning chef, Mark Militello.

Prezzo was known for introducing the first wood-burning pizza over to South Florida when the original restaurant opened in Boca Raton in 1989. The wood-burning pizza is living on with the oven in the center of the dining room and guests being able to choose from a selection of different crispy, thin-crust pizzas.

Prezzo had three locations open back in the 90s, including one in Boca, one in Aventura and one in South Miami. Both Rapoport and Max sold the locations in 1999 and they then closed in the early 2000s.

The new Prezzo Boca features dining both inside and out. Seating consists of 120 inside and 50 seats on the patio. The restaurant also features a spacious indoor/outdoor bar area with a cocktail and wine list curated by Bar Manager and Master Mixologist, Arturo Sighinolfi.

Some highlights from the menu include the Mozzarella Bar – a menu of Italian meats, house-made spreads and locally-sourced and internationally-made mozzarella cheeses (including one even made in house), Penne Alla Norma with roasted eggplant, fresh tomato, ricotta salata and Calabrian chile, Wood-Grilled Chicken, herb-marinated chicken breast served with Sicilian couscous and asparagus, and so much more.

Finish the meal right by indulging in Prezzo’s famous Wood Oven-Baked Apple Tart served with cinnamon gelato.

Happy Hour at Prezzo will be offered from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the bar and dining room starting Tuesday, January 2 featuring half price select beer, wine and liquor. Additionally, a bar bites menu will be available at the bar from 4:30-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Prezzo will add to Rapoport’s roster of other restaurants in the area, including Deck 84 in Delray Beach, Henry’s west of Delray Beach and Burt & Max’s American Bar & Grille at the Delray Marketplace.

Reservations are recommended. They can be made via phone by calling 561-314-6840. Located 5560 North Military Trail, at the new Park Place plaza, Boca Raton. For more information on the opening and to check out the full menu, visit
