The blissful innocence of childhood only comes around once for each of us; imagine if that were forcefully taken away from you. Approximately 300,000 children are sexually abused every year in the United States.
Based in Boca Raton, the Child Rescue Coalition partners with law enforcement agencies and child advocates around the world to safeguard children from sexual exploitation. Through the utilization of cutting-edge technology, the coalition tracks, arrests, and convicts predators who use the Internet to destruct young children. Donors of the coalition have actively contributed to providing law enforcement access to information about abuse in their local area.
While the term “child pornography” is commonly used to explain the sexual exploitation of children, it does not even come close to the horrific lives sexual abuse victims are suffering through. The abuse never seems to end, with pictures and video content shared across the internet. Sex offenders stalk children, share information and trade tips on how to seduce them into sexual encounters.
The worst part about it all; these repulsive abusers believe that these unthinkable actions are normal.
This needs to end now!
The Child Rescue Coalition is shutting down child pornography through a system in which millions of records are accessible to law enforcement at any time, year-round. Their partnerships include a global force of investigators, police officers, digital forensic experts, prosecutors and child welfare agencies.
The United States along with 77 other countries trust the coalition to provide viable information that will narrow down the hunt to take down these sickening predators.
Carly and Desiree Asher created this amazing nonprofit organization. Carly, Founder and CEO, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from our very own Florida Atlantic University. The rest of the team includes William Wiltse, President, Jose Garcia Fernandez, VP of Technology, Nancy Wilcox, VP of Finance and Roberto Machorro, Senior Computer Systems Analyst.
Elisa Pisana, the office manager shared “I’m thrilled to be able to utilize my passion for criminal justice and technology to ensure that this Boca Raton, technology-driven nonprofit operates efficiently. I’m excited to collaborate with staff, volunteers as well as small business partners, on ways to support Child Rescue Coalition’s mission of protecting innocence through technology.”
On August 7th the Child Rescue Coalition was awarded a $10,000 grant from the trust funds of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and a $20,000 grant from Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Trust Fund. These grants will support volunteer initiatives to provide security to those abused and investigators with the tools to track down online chat rooms and networks.
Director of Events Blake Brockway stated, “It’s an honor to lead the events and outreach programs for a nonprofit organization that is working around the clock to ensure that children can have a childhood free from abuse. Events like our annual gala and golf tournament not only celebrate the vital work of our law enforcement partners in all 50 states and 77 countries around the world, but also highlight ways that our community can take action against child predators and rescue children in harm’s way. I encourage everyone in the community to attend at least one of Child Rescue Coalition’s upcoming events to learn about the mission and the global impact this local nonprofit is making.”
The coalition is significantly expanding! Back in May, well-known actress and mother, Blake Lively spoke out about child pornography and how much support the Child Rescue Coalition has contributed to children in need of saving. She has facilitated many ways to track down information as well as raise an enormous amount of awareness on social media. During the Variety’s Power of Women luncheon, Blake raised her voice about abused children, what they are forced to endure and how essential it is to donate to this cause.
The Child Protection System technology has successfully tracked 44 million offenders around the world. It has aided in the arrests of more than 9,500 online predators and rescued over 2,300 abused children in the past four years.
None of this would be possible if it weren’t for the generous donations of the community.
Coming up on August 29th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Blue Martini will be hosting an event for the coalition called “Join the Club”! If you’re interested in learning about ways you can support their mission throughout the year, be sure to check out this fun event where you can gather information about the Coalition Club, Champions Club or Community Club.
No matter how you choose to contribute, every dollar makes a difference. Let’s work together to ensure the safety and innocence of children.
