Mizner Park mainstay Max’s Grille just announced a Great Room redo. The outdoor bar, patio seating and most indoor spaces will stay open during renovations.
“Just the Great Room will be shut down during updates,” Amber Clark said for Rapoport’s Restaurant Group.
The Grille will also be open regular hours on July Fourth, offering the full menu and barbecue specials, Clark added.
All the restaurant’s tables, chairs and bar stools will be replaced. The walls will be repainted. New lighting fixtures will be installed throughout.
Max’s Grille opened in 1991. “With the 30th anniversary approaching in 2021, we wanted to modernize the space…” said managing partner Burt Rapoport, restaurant group president.
Plans for the back dining include a 16-foot service bar with an illuminated liquor display wall. A mural by noted local abstract artist Ruben Ubiera and pendant lighting are also planned.
The wooden shutters and white drapes covering the interior windows will be removed. The changes are expected to last until September.
“We wanted to maintain the comfort and familiarity of the space, while giving the design a fresh approach,” said Pam Manhas, principal designer. Manhas Design did Burt & Max’s in Delray and Prezzo in Boca for the same restaurant group.
