If you’re late returning books at the two west Boca libraries, you’ll get a reprieve in June.
Overdue Fine Forgiveness is for cardholders at any branch in Palm Beach County’s free library system.
The two in west Boca are the Glades Road Branch at 20701 95th Ave. South and West Boca Branch at 18685 State Road 7.
Starting June 1 and ending June 30, cardholders can request a reprieve on their fines or ask for a new card for free.
Requests will be accepted in person, online or by phone.
Glades Road phone is 561-482-4554. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The branch is closed Sundays.
West Boca’s phone is 561-470-1600. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Damaged or lost materials fees are not part of the program. No refunds will be issued for fines already paid.
“This is only the second overdue forgiveness program in our history,” library director Doug Crane said in a statement. “With our anniversary celebration, we believe this is an appropriate opportunity to give back to the residents of Palm Beach County, who have supported county library service for the past five decades.”
The two Boca Raton city libraries are not affected.
