Rex Baron took a store and large restaurant space in the Nordstrom wing at Town Center at Boca Raton mall.
No opening date, but when construction is finished, patrons will have three entrances. They’ll need it.
Two areas will have at least 32 stations of virtual reality, from Paris strolls to a safari and 360-degree painting.
The rest is a restaurant artfully outfitted with mannequins as characters in a post-apocalyptic world undergoing rebuilding. Each character has his or her own story and apps are being developed.
Here’s how the place is described:
“As its sister outpost to Rex Gryphon’s Mad Rex in Philadelphia, the South Florida outpost is named for its own lead vigilante Rex Baron and features a collection of authentic fashion-infused vigilante persona art exhibits of Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Prada, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Isaac Sellam and Carol Christian Poell couture).
“The public is always looking for new experiences and we have that for sure. I see it as a destination for more than just food and drinks,” general manager Joseph Messina said during a walk-through and sneak peek.
There’s something to do and see in every space. There’s even a room with a large video screen to simulate golf, football, soccer, bowling and other sports.
The space can be rented out for private parties and corporate events. So can the two virtual reality rooms; one’s a lounge.
Payments for virtual reality stations will be time slots of 15 minutes and up, said Cameron Fridmann, assistant general manager. “We’ll have packages for parties and individuals. You can come in and do the lounge or go to the restaurant.”
