Dust off them boots and get ready to kick up your heels as the 24th Annual George Snow Scholarship Fund Cowboy Ball pitches a tent at the Mizner Park Amphitheater this Saturday, Feb. 25, from 6 – 11 p.m.
Partners who partake in the festivities are in for a rootin’ tootin’ time with fiddle playing, line dancing and mechanical bull riding, that’s sure to separate the real cowboys from the rest.
“This year, we have completely changed the format of Cowboy Ball,” said Tim Snow, president of the George Snow Scholarship Fund. “The event is now going to be under the tent at Mizner Park Amphitheater. Guests will enjoy culinary delights from multiple restaurants and a whiskey tasting in the Saloon. Plus, there will be a fiddle player, square dancing and line dancing.”
Guests can mosey on up to the chuck wagon to enjoy delicious delicacies from a bevy of fabulous eateries and then wash it all down with a swig of whiskey – there’ll be plenty to taste in the saloon.
There’s also a live auction that has nothing to do with livestock – instead, prizes will range from cruises, luxury hotel stays to a trip to Camp Deliverance in the Everglades.
For those held up in the pokey and can’t come, it’s alrighty, you can still participate in the Cowboy Ball Charity Raffle with a grand prize of $5,000 smackers – cash to you yokels.
In addition to all the fun and commotion, there’ll be a few special people to heap a whole lotta praise on including Margi and Kurtiss Cross who will receive the Community Service Award.
“We are truly looking forward to honoring Margi and Kurtiss Cross with the Community Service Award,” said Snow. “They are a couple who have shown an ongoing commitment toward improving the quality of life in this community.”
The Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton will be honored with the Corporate Community Service Award.
“As an organization, they’ve established a continuous pledge to substantially supporting a variety of local nonprofits,” said Snow.
Snow also tips his hat to Event Co-Chairs, Katherine and Craig Regna, both of whom Snow said are having a blast helping to plan the event.
Folks have been gearing up for the big event beginning with the Cowboy Ball Kick-Off Party that took place at Sklar Furnishing in Boca a piece back.
So go on now and get all gussied up in your best cowboy duds and get your country on, Boca style, at this iconic event that raises money to benefit the George Snow Scholarship Fund. The Fund provides not only scholarships but critical support services to deserving students with financial need so they can pursue their career goals through achieving higher education.
The George Snow Scholarship Fund has awarded over $8.2 million in scholarship awards to more than 1,600 talented since 1982.
“The Cowboy Ball is more than just a fundraising event. It has a become a tradition to attend for many different members of the community,” said Snow.
