For “All in the Family” sitcom fans, Sally Struthers plays Miss Hannigan in The Wick’s production of “Annie.”
Tickets are also for sale for The SYMPHONIA’s first concert of the season Dec. 2. The rehearsal with a boxed lunch is Friday, Nov. 30.
Previews for the musical “Annie” are 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 29 and 30. Opening night is Saturday, Dec. 1. The show runs through Sunday, Dec. 23. Tickets are $75 to $85; children $40, at The Wick site or 561-995-2333. The Wick is at 7901 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton.
Struthers is best known for her Emmy-winning role as Gloria in the 1971 to ’79 sitcom. In “Annie,” she reprises a role she has performed since 1998 when the show was on tour. Broadway actor George Dvorsky stars as Daddy Warbucks. This is Ella Peyton’s second time as Annie. She also played Gretl in NBC’s “Sound of Music Live.”
The SYMPHONIA chamber orchestra opens the Marleen Forkas Connoisseur Concert Series for 2018-2019 at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. A pre-concert conversation with the conductor is 2 p.m.
Kids meet the musicians at a dress rehearsal and take part an instrument petting zoo the morning of the concert from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Concerts are held in the Roberts Theater at the Saint Andrew’s School, 3900 Jog Road in Boca Raton.
The rehearsal and box lunch begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 30. They are held in the Unitarian Church, 2601 St. Andrews Blvd. Admission is $35.
The program includes Piston Sinfonietta; Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466; Carter Elegy and Mozart Symphony No. 36 in C major, K. 425, “Linz.”
Gerard Schwarz is guest conductor and Marika Bournakai is piano soloist. Schwarz is music director of the Emmy Award-winning All-Star Orchestra and the Eastern Music Festival.
