Two Boca nonprofits are urging signups for 5Ks in March.
Kids run free in Boca Helping Hands’ first Bridging the Distance run/walk.
The community event is 7 a.m. March 14 on Boca Raton Innovation Campus [BRIC], 5000 T-Rex Ave. off Yamato Road. Registered runners receive an AccuChip.
Adults can register for $30 and a $2.50 signup fee. Kids 10 and younger run free at 8 a.m. You can register here.
Spirit of Giving’s second annual Community Spirit Race is 8 a.m. March 7 at Florida Atlantic University Stadium. Register through March 2 for $30 for the 5K, $20 for 1-mile or $30 for virtual 5K, plus $2.50 fee each here.
The cost is $35 per person afterwards through March 7. On-site registration on race day opens 6:30 a.m.
A light breakfast, kids fun zone and awards ceremony will take place in the stadium afterwards. Medals will be awarded to the top three in each age category. Also, best times for males and females.
The first 300 runners at Boca Helping Hands’ race receive a T-shirt. First, second- and third-place awards in five age groups include under 10 and over 80. Runners signing up before March 1 included in raffle for two nights in Bluegreen Resort Villa in Orlando.
Light refreshments from Einstein Bagels, Adam Joe Know Lunch and more. Among race sponsors are BRIC, landlord Crocker Partners, MobileHelp, Modernizing Medicine and Gary Peters Family Foundation. Sponsorships available until Feb. 29.
