If you’re heading south on Florida’s Turnpike this week, expect an overnight closure at Sunrise Monday and Tuesday.
All southbound lanes at the Sunrise Boulevard interchange will close from 11 p.m. Jan. 7 to 5 a.m. Jan. 8. If it’s necessary to complete the work, the lanes will close the same time overnight Jan. 8 to 9.
For the detour, southbound drivers will be directed to U.S. Highway 441/State Road 7 south to westbound I-595 to access the southbound turnpike.
The closures will allow crews do bridge construction, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The schedule may change for inclement weather or other conditions, FDOT advises.
