It’s a wrap. The YMCA’s 2018 Change a Life Annual Giving Campaign raised $609,209.
The campaign put the Ys of South Palm Beach County over their $561,000 goal.
“Thank you for giving our kids a safe place to go after school,” trustee and campaign chair Beth Johnston said at the recent victory party. “It’s not as much the number, as the impact this will make in the lives of children, families and seniors.”
Johnston literally rolled the dice with Y president and CEO Jason Hagensick to raise another $38,000. Donor Scott Hanlon stepped in to pledge that sum. “I really see the Y making a change in people’s lives,” he said.
Other donors and staffs of the Peter Blum Family Y in Boca and the Devos-Family Y in Boynton were there to support the effort. Hagensick also handed out staff awards.
“It’s not often a concert is interrupted by a fundraiser,” he joked.
Lynn University president Kevin Ross’ rock band Wolfhawk provided the music.
